On Friday many Search engine news agencies and popular blogs have written that “Google has stopped to show the ads on right hand side.”
Search engine land said that “Google spokes person has confirmed this new updates and clarify about what changes we can suddenly see in Google search results worldwide.” Soon Google will also inform to advertiser about this new changes.

A best and helpful tool is still available for analysing the ad previews of Google ads – “Ad Preview and Diagnosis”. I use this tool and check the different ads according to locations. What results I find out?
- Initially recent update is Live in USA and Google is not showing the ads at right hand side. I have just select Washington, United States – state as location in preview tool and type the keywords “car accident lawyers” ….what results? I surprised to see following result:
Google start to show the 4 ads at top in search result and right hand side blank.
- Now I change the search query according to google new announcement and type “car accident help”, I again surprise to see the ads:
I don’t know why? But I have continuously searches from different keywords and location like hotels in New York, Car insurance, personal injury lawyers, and SEO companies’ etc. I find variations in results. Some time Google Shows 4 ads in search results and some time ads visible in right hand side.
Means as Google tell that “Ads will not appear on the right side of desktop search results, with two exceptions:
- Product Listing Ad (PLA) boxes, which show either above or to the right of search results
- ads in the Knowledge Panel ”
Still in implementation phase and in future it will possible to find out conclusion of this update.
How it can affect conversion?
Recent update indications of Google don’t want to show unwanted ads and irrelevant ads in search result to Google users. So if your ads still not proper setup or landing pages are not relevant then start to work on it. Because after right side ads invisibility, it will going to tough task for you to show your ads at top position on search result page.
If are you dependent on Google Adwords then now you should start to analyse your campaign and need to confirm that your ads are visible or not. If it is visible then no issue but if it’s not viewable on first page on search results then it’s worthless to run Adwords campaign.
What’s going effects on SEO?
SEO is still alive but a hardest job for new websites. Because of Stop to Showing Ads on Right Side, upcoming months again SEO demand will increase. If Google will show 4 ads in starting of search results then approx 16-17 option available for users on First page then it’s also challenging task to get organic click. Well, its confirmed thing that this new updates will disturb all SEO’s and Advertiser’s planning. Now at current situation is like “Wait and watch”, Whenever Google will not publish any detail doc about search engine result page.
